EDICS Internet Help: Browse Collections

Pending collections are those which have been submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) but which are not yet approved. Active collections are those which have been approved by OMB.

The tracking number for each collection has three parts:

  • A 5-digit EDICS tracking number (e.g. 00205).
  • A 4-digit number representing the sponsoring office.
  • A 4-digit control number assigned by OMB.

When you click on a listed collection, a screen appears which identifies the sponsoring office, and provides basic information about the collection. A link is also provided to a listing of any attachment files which might be associated with the collection. Examples of attachments likely to be found include:

  • The OMB Form 83-I application, in Microsoft Word format
  • The Supporting Statement, in Microsoft Word format
  • Notice(s) of Action from OMB for the collection
  • Application forms or other collection instruments associated with the collection

Note that not all collections have attachment files loaded into EDICS at this time. If there are no attachments, an empty list will appear.
